AI Trade Verdict

AI Trade Verdict grades a trade the way your leaguemates argue about one — but with your whole league’s context in view. Pick any trade from your activity feed (or compose a hypothetical in the trade analyzer) and Batter’s Eye writes a verdict: who won, the case for each side, and a bottom line — all through your league’s format lens. Every verdict gets its own public link you can paste straight into the group chat.

What makes it league-aware

The numeric trade calculator is league-blind — it only knows player ranks. The AI verdict adds the context that actually decides trades:

• Each team’s category strengths and weaknesses versus the league average, so it knows when a side is trading from a surplus into a need.
• Team mode — contender, rebuilder, or balanced — so a win-now move and a rebuild move are judged on their own terms.
• Thin positions and roster shape, so it can flag when a trade papers over (or opens) a hole.
• The traded players’ consensus ranks for both rest-of-season and dynasty value.

The format lens (redraft vs. dynasty)

The verdict is graded through your league’s format, and it says which lens it used:

• Redraft — graded on rest-of-season value only. Age, keeper cost, and multi-year windows are explicitly ignored; the only question is who gets more production for the stretch run.
• Keeper / Dynasty — layers in age, contention windows, and keeper cost, using each team’s mode and the players’ dynasty ranks. A contender paying youth for win-now production can still “win” the trade for its window.

Your league format is set in the Admin tab of your league (the same setting that drives The League Rag).

Getting a verdict

1. Open a trade in your league’s Activity feed and hit Analyze — both sides are pre-filled — or build a hypothetical trade in the analyzer and use the team selectors to map each side to a league team.
2. Click Get AI Verdict. After a few seconds the verdict appears beneath the numeric assessment, with a lens badge and a copy-share-link button.

A trade from the activity feed gets one verdict per league — re-opening it shows the same verdict (and stable link) rather than spending a new generation. Trades that already have a verdict show a View verdict link right in the feed.

Sharing a verdict

Every verdict has a public page at batters-eye.com/trade/{link}. Like player cards and recaps, the link unfurls into a rich preview image in Discord, iMessage, Slack, and social apps. Anyone can read it, signed in or not — it shows the matchup, the traded players’ ranks, which lens was used, and the full verdict.

Privacy

Verdicts refer to teams only by their fantasy team name — never a real owner name. No owner names reach the AI, the stored verdict, its share page, or its preview image. Nothing about rosters, credentials, or accounts is exposed either.
