Notifications

The notification bell in the header is your feed for everything Batter’s Eye notices on your behalf — home runs, trades, injuries, matchup swings, and more. Every alert lands in the bell in-app; each one can also reach you as a push notification outside the app. You control both from Settings → Notifications.

The bell appears in the header whenever you’re signed in.

  • Unread badge — a count of unread notifications, capped at 99+. If you’ve installed Batter’s Eye as an app, the count also appears on the app icon.
  • Live updates — new notifications appear in real time while the app is open. No refresh needed.
  • The dropdown — shows your unread notifications only, each with a category icon, title, short body, and relative time. Clicking one marks it read and deep-links to the relevant page (a player, your matchup, the Trade Block, and so on). Hover a row to delete it, or use Mark all read to clear the badge. When you’re caught up it simply says “You’re all caught up.”
  • Retention — notifications are kept for 30 days, then cleared automatically.

Triggers are organized into five categories. All five categories are on by default; a few high-frequency events within them are opt-in, marked (off by default) below.

Real-time during games featuring your players.

  • Home runs — a rostered or watched player homers.
  • On deck — a player is about to bat. (off by default)
  • Now batting — a player steps into the box. (off by default)
  • Lineup posted — starting lineup is final.
  • Game started — a game with your players begins.

Transactions, injuries, rumors, prospects.

  • Transactions — trades, signings, roster moves.
  • Injuries — IL placements and updates.
  • Rumors — trade buzz and speculation. (off by default)
  • Prospect news — callups, demotions, assignments.
  • General news — everything else. (off by default)

Your fantasy matchup status.

  • Lead change — winning ↔ losing flips.
  • Close matchup — margin within one category.
  • Matchup final — scoring period ends.

Live matchup alerts — a sub-group for in-game events that swing a tight category in your head-to-head matchup, all (off by default):

  • Steals — a stolen base swings a tight SB category. (H2H category leagues only.)
  • Saves & holds — a save or hold swings a tight SV/HLD category.
  • Counting stats — a HR/R/RBI/K/W/QS swings a tight category.

League activity affecting your roster or watchlist.

  • Drops — a player on your team is dropped.
  • Watchlist pickups — a watched player is picked up.

A leaguemate lists a player or category you want. See Trade Block for how matches work. This category has no sub-events — it’s a single toggle.

The Triggers panel in Settings → Notifications lets you pick which events fire a push and appear in the bell. Disabled events are fully silenced — no bell entry, no push — though previously-received notifications stay in the bell until dismissed. Each category shows an active/total count badge, with Enable all / Disable all shortcuts per category. A Send Test button queues a test notification so you can watch it arrive in the bell.

Quiet hours defer pushes during a window you set — in-app notifications still arrive in the bell immediately, so nothing is lost.

  • Set a Start and End time plus your timezone (seeded from your browser when you enable it). The window may wrap midnight — the default is 22:00 → 08:00.
  • When the window ends, anything that was deferred is delivered as one summary push“Notifications while you were away” — within a few minutes. Individual pushes are not replayed; the details are waiting in the bell.

The Devices panel lists every browser and phone subscribed to push, with when each was added and a per-device remove button. The master Disable button removes all of your devices at once. The bell always works in-app regardless of push state — see Push Notifications for enabling push and browser-specific requirements.

To keep alerts meaningful, player-tracking pushes are limited to one per player per 30 minutes (high-signal events like home runs are exempt), and rapid-fire game events are batched into a single push rather than a burst.

  • Push Notifications — getting push working on your browsers and phones.
  • Watchlist — the players your game and pickup alerts follow.
  • Trade Block — the market behind Trade Block match alerts.
