State of the League
State of the League plots every team in your league on a 2×2 map: how strong they are now versus how bright their future looks. It answers one question for each team — are you built to win now, later, both, or neither? It’s the fastest way to read the whole league at a glance and spot trade partners.
The two axes
Section titled “The two axes”- Now (horizontal) — current-season strength. Teams are ranked by their actual season stats across your league’s scoring categories. Early in the season, before enough games are played, it falls back to projected strength (Steamer) and says so with a note.
- Future (vertical) — age-weighted dynasty value. Each rostered player contributes based on their dynasty consensus rank and their age — youth is rewarded, decline is penalized — and prospects count through their dynasty rank. Teams are then ranked against each other.
Both axes run 0–100 and split at 50.
The four quadrants

Each team also gets a one-line verdict and its top win-now and top future players — the guys driving each axis. The top win-now players are chosen by current-season production (relative to your league’s categories), not a stale preseason ranking — so the win-now driver is whoever is actually raking now. The verdict will only crown a team’s “strong young core” anchor if that player is genuinely producing this season; a busted preseason darling is never named the anchor.
Reading the map
Section titled “Reading the map”Open your league and pick the State of the League tab. The scatter shows every team as a dot colored by quadrant; hover a dot (or read the cards below it) for the team’s now/future scores, verdict, and key players. Your own team is highlighted.
Sharing it
Section titled “Sharing it”The league creator can hit Share this to publish a public snapshot at batters-eye.com/window/{link}. Like player cards, recaps, and trade verdicts, the link unfurls into a rich preview image in Discord, iMessage, Slack, and social apps. Anyone can view it signed in or not — it’s a great “here’s where everyone stands” drop for the league chat, and a fun recruiting hook for prospective leaguemates.
The snapshot is frozen at the moment you publish it, so the public page loads instantly and never touches ESPN. Publishing is limited to a few snapshots per day.
On the published snapshot, each team card also gains a ✨ Narrative — two or three AI-written sentences reading that team’s situation: where its window stands, what’s driving it, and what the map says to do about it. Narratives appear only on the frozen share snapshot, never on the live in-app tab, and they’re written once at publish time. If the server has no Anthropic API key configured, the snapshot simply publishes without them — everything else is identical.
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”Snapshots refer to teams only by their fantasy team name — never a real owner name. No owner names reach the stored snapshot, its public page, its preview image, or its share card. Nothing about rosters beyond the handful of named driver players, and nothing about credentials or accounts, is exposed.
